Sometimes, there comes a point in our lives when we feel that we will achieve a goal, even if it hasn’t happened yet. This is because we know the effort we’ve put into it. You don’t need the skills of a fortune teller or psychic to have this kind of vision.
A resident of Cotabato has made their community proud by securing the top position in the Criminologist Licensure Examination (CLE).
Lyen Carel Togonon Garcia, a cum laude graduate of BS Criminology from the University of Mindanao – Davao City, hails from Barangay Rosary Heights 11 in Cotabato.

Garcia earned a score of 90.70%, the highest among the 12,698 individuals who passed the June 2022 Criminologist Licensure Examination.
He posted on Facebook, July 25, 2022, “There’s no success without hardship. Kung gusto mo, pagpapaguran mo.”
A notable part of Lyen’s Facebook post caption reads “Predicted 100.”
In an interview with an entertainment website, Garcia shared that from the start, he was confident he could top the board exam. He explained that they were trained to always set goals and strive for the highest possible score.
Discipline, hard work, and determination were the key factors Garcia relied on during his review and when taking the actual board exam. As a result, he was thrilled with the outcome, having secured the top spot.
One of the reasons Garcia was determined to become a topnotcher was the peer pressure from his classmates, particularly since he graduated as a cum laude.
In a Facebook story, Garcia revealed his secret to his review process. He shared, “I committed to reading review materials for 13-14 hours a day during the first two months, 15-16 hours for the next two months, and 17-18 hours for the final two months.”
“Nagkakasakit. Napapagod. Nauubusan ng loob ngunit patuloy parin na lumalaban,” he said in a caption.
“Guys, di mo kailangan maging matalino sa board exam. Sipag at determination lang.”
