The Department of Education (DepEd) released an advisory stating that there is no corruption or malpractice under the leadership of former senator and DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, according to their post on DepEd Philippines.
This statement is related to transparency in the department’s procurement process to enhance public service for the education sector, the welfare of teachers, and especially for the benefit of students.

“The Department of Education (DepEd) is committed to fair and transparent procurement processes. We adhere to Republic Act No. 9184 (Government Procurement Reform Act) to ensure equal opportunity for all qualified bidders at all levels—from the Central Office to our public schools.”
“We strongly condemn any corrupt practices in DepEd’s procurement activities. Any individual or entity found guilty will face severe consequences, including blacklisting and criminal charges,” they added.
DepEd encouraged the public to promptly report any DepEd personnel involved in corrupt activities, especially in procurement.
“Your reports will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and in accordance with data privacy laws,” DepEd assured the public.
