Netizens were delighted and inspired by the success story of a former house helper and farmer who worked hard to complete a college education and pass the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
Carl E. Balita, a review center owner and former senatorial aspirant, shared the inspiring story of one of his reviewees, Hadjimar Dutosme Lubrico, from Bukidnon. Lubrico learned to farm at the age of 8 and worked as a houseboy at 13, enduring abuse and maltreatment from his employer. Though he managed to escape, the traumatic experience left lasting scars.

Despite these hardships, Lubrico aspired to finish his studies and become a teacher. He excelled academically, graduating as class valedictorian in high school and later enrolling at Central Mindanao University. However, financial struggles forced him to pause his studies and focus on work to support his family.
In 2021, Lubrico reignited his dream of excelling in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) after being inspired by the story of another topnotcher who also came from humble beginnings. He enrolled at the Carl Balita Review Center (CBRC), where he found the support and guidance he needed.
After months of intensive review, Lubrico took the LET and achieved an impressive feat by placing Top 4. His story of perseverance and triumph has inspired many, proving that determination and hard work can overcome even the toughest challenges.
“Ang kwento ni Hadjimar ay isang patunay na walang hirap at sitwasyon ang makakapigil sa taong may pangarap at pagsisikap,” Balita said.
“Congratulations Sir Hadjimar!💖🎉 Proud kami sayo at ikinalulugod naming maging bahagi ng iyong tagumpay!” he added.

In the comment section, Lubrico expressed his gratitude to Balita.
“Lumaki po ako sa payak na pamumuhay, naging biktima ng karahasan, naging isang working student sa mall habang nag-aral sa isang simpleng paaralan sa probinsya ng Bukidnon. Pero di ko po lubos akalain na makakasama ako sa hanay ng mga Topnotchers na mula sa mga kilala at prestihiyosong mga unibersidad sa buong Pilipinas,” he said.
