The phrase “Like mother, like daughter” means that the daughter shares similarities with her mother, whether in appearance, behavior, or achievements. It’s often used to highlight the resemblance or similar traits between them, suggesting that the daughter has inherited or followed in her mother’s footsteps in some way.

“Like mother, like daughter” was the vibe of the mother and daughter duo from Sto. Tomas, Davao Del Norte last 2023 as they marched together on stage to receive their diplomas during the commencement exercises held at their school recently.

Both Airesh Labiste Luna, 47, and her daughter Arianne Kaye, 22, graduated with a degree in Technical-Vocational Teacher Education from Sto. Tomas College of Agriculture, Sciences, and Technology.

Arianne’s Facebook post showcases her pride in the achievements of both her and her mother.

“Ug nahuman gyud nato mama, may gani wala ka seg absent!!! Salamat kaayo sa tanan ma, mahal kaayo tika,” she said. [And we really finished it, Mom! Good thing you didn’t skip any classes!!! Thank you so much for everything, I love you so much.]

“May this post inspire people who put their dreams on hold and dili na muskwela kay tungod sa ‘edad’, it’s never too late to rewrite your story.” [May this post inspire people who put their dreams on hold and stopped schooling because of their “age.” It’s never too late to rewrite your story.]

“My mother waited 20 years for this to happen. Embrace your unique journey and let it fuel your motivation.”

“The Mother & Daughter of Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education finally graduated! Thank you STCAST! To God be all the Glory!,” Arianne said.

Airesh admitted that she was the oldest in their class, which is why everyone called her “momsh.”

Momsh Airesh plans to pursue a master’s degree, while Arianne will prepare for the board exam.

Congratulations!
