It is the responsibility of parents to care for and educate their children. That is why parents who strive to ensure their children complete their education are truly admirable.
No matter the hardship and sacrifice, parents are willing to endure for the sake of their children’s needs.
This was demonstrated by a father who was able to support his child’s education through his work as a garbage collector.
In a Facebook post in 2019, Junnel Gemida proudly shared how his father, despite being a garbage collector, managed to ensure he completed his education.
“Flex ko lang tatay ko kahit basurero siya napagraduate niya ako,” he said.

The post by Junnel quickly went viral, earning admiration from netizens. It garnered thousand reactions and shares.
Junnel’s father, Juanito, 51 years old, was recognized when they were featured on Wish Ko Lang by GMA Network.
Juanito was previously a family driver, but due to his worsening eyesight, he was forced to stop working in that role.
He shared that there were times when he had to stop driving because he could no longer see the vehicles in front of him.
Tatay Juanito volunteered to leave his job as a family driver, fearing that he might get into an accident due to his poor eyesight.
Finding another job was also difficult for him because of his vision problems.
His wife, Nanay Conrada, works as a janitress and has been a great help in supporting the education of their two children.
According to Tatay Juanito, he has no other wish but for his children to finish their studies.
