A teacher has a request for parents planning to give a “money garland” or “money bouquet” to their children who are graduating, especially at the elementary level.

In a viral Facebook post by teacher “Gerva Lpt,” the message begins with, “Pakiusap sa mga Magulang na Magbibigay ng Money Garland ngayong Graduation Season.”

He said that not all students come from financially capable families.

This has garnered various reactions and comments from netizens.

“Agree. It doesn’t make a difference kung bigyan ang bata na nakasobre. Let’s all be equal on the stage with only the school’s recognition for a student as the difference.”

“I am one of those selling money garland, pano po ba sir? Sasabihan ko ho ba yung customer ko na wag mo to e sabit sa stage maam, dun na po after program. Sir I respect this post and all those who agree with you. Sir, it is not about the status. Not all my customers are rich, pero one thing in common is they are proud parents. Sir, we can’t tell a parent to adjust for the sake of the other kid. Kasi as a parent, all we want is the best and the happiness of our kids.”
