Achieving proper education is crucial because it opens doors to opportunities, improves quality of life, and empowers individuals to make informed decisions. Education provides the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the world, pursue careers, and contribute meaningfully to society. It promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, enabling individuals to adapt to changes and challenges in life.

Proper education also helps reduce inequality by giving everyone, regardless of their background, the tools to succeed. It fosters personal development, instills confidence, and supports social mobility, allowing individuals to break free from cycles of poverty and improve their living conditions. Furthermore, education plays a key role in shaping responsible and informed citizens who can actively participate in societal progress and contribute to a better, more just world.

The Facebook post of teacher and writer Mikee Brosas went viral after he shared a screenshot of a message from one of his students, who informed him that they had to stop studying.

According to the message from the student, they informed Brosas that they could no longer attend school because no one would be able to support their education, though the reason was not mentioned in their conversation.

The student expressed gratitude to the teacher for his excellent teaching. They said that perhaps it wasn’t yet their time to pursue a college education.

In response, Brosas said that for students who have the physical, mental, emotional, and especially financial capacity to pursue education, they should not take it for granted or waste the opportunity.

There are people, he said, who want to finish their education but lack the resources mentioned above.

“this is what i mean when i say na when you have the means to pursue your studies, huwag n’yong i-take for granted. own it. pahalagahan n’yo bawat pagkakataon. not everyone has it,” he said.

“maraming tao ang mayroong deepest desires sa mga bagay na madalas ding hindi binibigyang halaga ng iba. katulad ng mga pangarap na nagagawang maibaon sa limot dahil sa kakulangan ng suporta.”

“i hope one day, makabuo tayo ng espasyo na kung saan hindi mapagkakaitan ang iba. na ligtas at inklusibo. na magkaroon ng fair share at angkop na pagtrato.”

“mahigpit na yakap w/ consent para sa lahat.”

“i hope we all get better,” he concluded.

Brosas added that he asked the student for permission before posting the screenshot of their message. He also shared his own message for the said student.

“do not worry, i posted it with my students’ consent.”

“and to you, my dear student, i know things will be better. hindi man ngayon pero palaging may nakalaan na panahon para sa paghilom.”

“kapit lang. aayon din sa inyo ang pagkakataon.”

t was later revealed that Mikee is a college instructor at a private college in Cavite and a registered writer under the National Book Development Board (NBDB).

He shared that the student he was talking to was still in their first year of studies.
